Creativity. Digital art created on canvas. August 3, 2024. Afrika Abney

This striking abstract painting showcases a vibrant interplay of yellow and green hues, expertly blended to create a dynamic visual experience. The artist's innovative approach is evident in the way the colors interact, with bold strokes and soft transitions that evoke a sense of movement and energy. The use of yellow brings warmth and optimism, while the green adds a refreshing touch, symbolizing growth and vitality. Together, these colors create a harmonious balance that draws the viewer in, encouraging them to explore the depths of the artwork.

The abstract nature of this painting invites a multitude of interpretations, allowing each viewer to connect with the piece on a personal level. The lack of defined shapes and forms encourages the imagination to wander, prompting reflections on emotions, memories, and experiences. This open-ended quality is a testament to the artist's creativity, as it transforms the canvas into a space for individual exploration and introspection.

I have consistently infused creativity into every strategy and project undertaken. This painting is a culmination of years of experience and a deep understanding of color theory and composition. The result is a piece that not only captivates the eye but also resonates with the soul.

“With the ability to think creatively and outside of the box, employees are more likely to come up with unique and innovative solutions to obstacles they encounter.”

Vibrant Visions of Faith

Vibrant Visions of Faith. Digital art created on canvas. November 26, 2024. Afrika Abney  With the principle of faith, I am fortunate that I graduated from Bell Multicultural High School in 1993 because I felt alone, depressed, traumatized, isolated and discriminated against every time that I stepped inside the school from 1991 - 1993. The colors gold and shades of yellow are deliberately selected to depict optimism, while black represents faith.

Thanksgiving

“Best of all is it to preserve everything in a pure, still heart, and let there be for every pulse a thanksgiving, and for every breath a song.”- Konrad von Gesner  Thanksgiving. Digital art created on canvas. November 28, 2024. Afrika Abney  Thanksgiving has been tough for me since I was a student between losing loved ones, facing traumatic experiences, and overcoming racism and discrimination.  “Thanksgiving in Washington, D.C. during the 1970s was a unique blend of tradition and the evolving cultural landscape of the era. The nation’s capital, known for its rich history and political significance, became a focal point for various Thanksgiving celebrations that reflected both the solemnity of the holiday and the vibrancy of the 1970s. As the decade progressed, Thanksgiving in Washington, D.C. began to reflect broader societal changes, including the growing awareness of social issues and the push for civil rights. The holiday served as a reminder of the impo...

DC Color Narrative

DC Color Narrative. Digital art created on canvas. September 16, 2024. Afrika Abney “The color palette of black, purple, and yellow serves as the foundation for my digital abstract artwork. My academic journey culminated in graduation in 1997, during which I explored a diverse array of subjects. Despite my extensive studies, digital art was not included in my curriculum. It wasn't until 2009 that I ventured into the realm of digital artistry. The colors I have selected for my artwork are not merely aesthetic choices; they are deeply intertwined with my identity. Growing up in Washington, DC during the 1970s has profoundly influenced my artistic expression. The vibrant hues of black, purple, and yellow resonate with my experiences and memories, encapsulating the essence of my upbringing in a culturally rich and dynamic environment. My journey into digital art has allowed me to channel my personal and professional history and cultural background into a visual form. The interplay of...
