Digital Harmony

Digital Harmony. Digital art created on canvas. September 9, 2024. Afrika Abney When I create my abstract digital art, I think of colors and how they impact my potential viewers. The colors that I have selected for my work include blue, dark green, yellow, black and red. The act of producing digital art transcends mere creation; it encompasses the vital aspect of sharing my work with a broader audience. I believe that art should not only be an individual expression but also a means of connection with others. To facilitate this, I utilize my blog as a platform to showcase my digital art, allowing me to reach and engage with those who appreciate the nuances of abstract expression. Through my blog posts, I aim to provide insights into my artistic process and the thoughts behind each piece. This not only serves to inform my audience about the intricacies of my work but also fosters a dialogue around the themes and emotions that my art seeks to convey. By sharing my digital creations ...

Fall Reflections

I have no idea what you are discussing because I am doing my fall reflections. In my artistic practice, which encompasses both traditional and digital abstract painting, I have explored an extensive palette of colors. Over the span of more than three decades, I have consistently utilized hues such as blue, crimson, dark red, red, black, green, magenta, and yellow, each contributing to the emotional depth and visual complexity of my work. In addition to these primary colors, I have also integrated a diverse range of other shades into my compositions. These include earthy tones like brown and orange, as well as more vibrant colors such as gold ochre, purple, pink, gray, and white. Each color serves a specific purpose, whether it be to evoke a particular mood or to create a striking contrast that draws the viewer's eye. This careful selection of colors is fundamental to my artistic expression and the overall impact of my pieces.

Multicultural literature

Quote found on the Internet  “Multicultural literature encompasses a diverse range of literary works that reflect the varied cultural backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of different ethnic and social groups. This genre serves as a vital platform for voices that have historically been marginalized or underrepresented in mainstream literature. By exploring themes such as identity, belonging, and cultural conflict, multicultural literature invites readers to engage with the complexities of human experience across different societies and traditions. The significance of multicultural literature lies in its ability to foster understanding and empathy among readers from different backgrounds. Through rich narratives and authentic character portrayals, these works challenge stereotypes and promote a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity. They often highlight the struggles and triumphs of individuals navigating their identities within the context of their cultural herita...

Simple White

The necessity for acquiring whiteboards has diminished for me, as I ceased offering educational services back in 2018. Since that time, my focus has shifted entirely. I have been working on my branding and digital art where I utilize various digital applications to express my creativity. In this context, the color white serves a significant purpose, often representing simplicity and clarity in my artistic endeavors.    “The concept of Simple White embodies the essence of minimalism, where the purity of the color white acts as an open canvas for creativity and innovation, allowing ideas to flourish without the distractions of complexity. The color white encourages a harmonious balance between creativity and tranquility.”

Autumn Equality

“The color red is often linked to the season of autumn, symbolizing the vibrant transformations that occur during this time of year. As the leaves change their hues and the landscape shifts, red embodies the warmth and richness of the season. Autumn serves as a reminder of the natural cycles of change, prompting reflection on the transitions that take place not only in nature but also within society. This season is an opportune moment for initiating meaningful changes, particularly in addressing pressing societal issues. The call for progress resonates strongly during autumn, as it encourages individuals and communities to confront and dismantle the barriers of discrimination that persist in various forms. The spirit of transformation inherent in this time of year can inspire collective action towards fostering inclusivity and equality.”

Evening Embrace

Evening Embrace. Digital art created on canvas. August 15, 2024. Afrika Abney As the sun dipped below the horizon a few hours back, the evening settled in, wrapping the world in a gentle embrace. In this tranquil atmosphere, I find solace in the soothing symphony of crickets chirping outside my window, their rhythmic sounds weaving a tapestry of calm that enhances my creative space. With each note they play, I feel more inspired, allowing their melody to guide my thoughts as I delve into the vibrant world of digital art. Immersed in this serene environment, I turn my attention to my digital palette, a vast array of colors waiting to be transformed into visual stories. Each hue beckons me, inviting exploration and experimentation as I carefully select the shades that will bring my artistic vision to life all while the crickets continue their evening serenade. This harmonious blend of nature and creativity fuels my passion, making the act of creating feel almost meditative. The crickets...

Creative Entertainment

Quote found on the Internet  “The 1990s marked a transformative era for the entertainment scene in Washington, D.C., where the convergence of political dynamics and cultural expression significantly influenced artistic endeavors. As the capital of the United States, the city served as a vibrant backdrop for political dialogue, which was often reflected in the creative outputs of its artists. Various forms of media, including documentaries, performance art, and literature, emerged as powerful tools for addressing urgent social issues, fostering a deeper engagement with the public and prompting critical discussions on contemporary matters.” I was a student during the 1990s up until the late 1990s.
