Rhythm of Love

Rhythm of Love. Digital art created on canvas. December 24, 2024. Afrika Abney

The key traits that I believe are essential during a long term relationship. These include a deep sense of affection, which fosters emotional intimacy and strengthens the bond between partners. Additionally, awareness of each other's needs and feelings plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy dynamic. The ability to be bold in expressing thoughts and emotions, along with a strong connection that transcends superficial interactions, is equally important. Commitment to one another ensures that both individuals are dedicated to nurturing the relationship through its various phases.

Creativity is another essential trait that can invigorate a long-term partnership and keep the relationship vibrant. Courage is necessary to face challenges and navigate conflicts that may arise, as it empowers individuals to confront issues rather than avoid them. Embracing each other's differences fosters a sense of acceptance and understanding, which is vital for growth. Furthermore, having faith in one another demonstrates the importance of feeling valued and supported.

The concepts of glory and harmony are also significant in a lasting relationship, as they reflect the shared achievements and the balance. Music symbolizes the rhythm and flow of the relationship, highlighting the importance of shared experiences and emotional connection. Together, these traits create a foundation that not only sustains a long-term relationship but also enriches the lives of both individuals involved, allowing them to thrive together in a meaningful partnership.

Thus, when I enter a long term relationship with a hetrosexual male, the above traits are what I seek to develop coherency. Unfortunately, in some of my experiences, this does not always pan out because of fear of commitment and lack of respect and trust from the other party involved.

Digital Harmony

Digital Harmony. Digital art created on canvas. September 9, 2024. Afrika Abney When I create my abstract digital art, I think of colors and how they impact my potential viewers. The colors that I have selected for my work include blue, dark green, yellow, black and red. The act of producing digital art transcends mere creation; it encompasses the vital aspect of sharing my work with a broader audience. I believe that art should not only be an individual expression but also a means of connection with others. To facilitate this, I utilize my blog as a platform to showcase my digital art, allowing me to reach and engage with those who appreciate the nuances of abstract expression. Through my blog posts, I aim to provide insights into my artistic process and the thoughts behind each piece. The exploration of human experiences within the context of abstract art

Quote found on the Internet “The exploration of human experiences within the context of abstract art reveals a profound interplay between emotion and perception. Abstract art, characterized by its departure from representational forms, invites viewers to engage with their own feelings and interpretations. This genre transcends traditional boundaries, allowing individuals to connect with the artwork on a personal level, often evoking a range of responses that are deeply rooted in their own life experiences. The absence of recognizable subjects encourages a more introspective approach, prompting viewers to reflect on their emotions and thoughts as they navigate the vibrant colors, shapes, and textures presented before them.”

East of the Anacostia River

““East of the River” was simply a geographical description without particular significance. But, it later became how some describe the neighborhoods east of the Anacostia River — often with a negative connotation. During the 1930s and 1940s, land development of the area continued alongside increased racial diversification of the region. At the end of World War II, white flight into suburban Maryland and Virginia resulted in a majority-Black Anacostia. The Anacostia River watershed in the District of Columbia and Maryland is home to more than 800,000 people, 43 species of fish and some 200 species of birds. The watershed has been heavily urbanized over time, losing 6,500 acres of wetlands and 70% of its forest cover. Over the past four centuries the Anacostia has been given many names: the Eastern Branch of the Potomac, the other national river, the dirtiest river in the nation, the forgotten river.” I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals and famil...

The Abstract Experience

The Abstract Experience. Digital art created on canvas. October 9, 2024. Afrika Abney  “The Abstract Experience emphasizes the immersive and subjective nature of engaging with abstract art. Abstract art is a multidimensional style that takes many different shapes. Many people struggle to grasp abstract art because of its vagueness and lack of empirical depiction. Abstract art doesn't try to represent anything in a visual realistic context, but more about creating a sense of thought, feeling, and a reaction to a visual experience. Abstract art doesn't contain recognizable objects, so there is nothing to grasp or hold onto. This can be very confusing, even threatening, to some who are not used to assigning their own meaning to what they see before them.” I studied abstract art when I was a student from various art institutions as a result of NationHouse not having a visual arts course.

Unity

Unity. Digital art created on canvas. August 2, 2024. Afrika Abney  Blue is the color associated with Unity. The way the different shades of blue blend and interact with each other reflects the idea of coming together as one.  “Unity in the workplace is built on three key elements – trust, equity, and communication. When employees feel like they are part of a team and have a sense of unity, they are more likely to be productive and happy. Some ways to build team unity and reach alignment Establish shared team identity and values Create a sense of belonging Emphasize the benefits of cross-functional collaboration Establish psychological safety and Involve people in decision-making.”
