Inaccurate information and Past professional experiences

I was 6 years old when the above photo was taken of me. At that time in 1982, I was a student at NationHouse. I have thrown the clothes away years later.

Since many people obviously have inaccurate information and are under the impression that I am hiring people. Let me take a moment to offer some brief insight on my past professional experiences. Since my employment with Jubilee Enterprises in 2021, I have not engaged in any hiring activities. My last experience in recruiting was in 2016, when I facilitated a series of visual art workshops that took place in 2016, which were focused on skill development rather than recruitment.

I urge those who may be attempting to tarnish my reputation or undermine my future prospects to reconsider their actions. Spreading inaccurate information is neither constructive nor justified, and it only serves to create unnecessary confusion and harm. It is essential to maintain a professional environment where facts are respected and communicated accurately, rather than allowing rumors to dictate perceptions of my professional standing.

Digital Harmony

Digital Harmony. Digital art created on canvas. September 9, 2024. Afrika Abney When I create my abstract digital art, I think of colors and how they impact my potential viewers. The colors that I have selected for my work include blue, dark green, yellow, black and red. The act of producing digital art transcends mere creation; it encompasses the vital aspect of sharing my work with a broader audience. I believe that art should not only be an individual expression but also a means of connection with others. To facilitate this, I utilize my blog as a platform to showcase my digital art, allowing me to reach and engage with those who appreciate the nuances of abstract expression. Through my blog posts, I aim to provide insights into my artistic process and the thoughts behind each piece. This not only serves to inform my audience about the intricacies of my work but also fosters a dialogue around the themes and emotions that my art seeks to convey. Pivotal Moments

Flyer created in 2019 for Doc Powell, Founder of the Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers by Ms. Afrika Abney.  “Back when Art All Night first took root in the Shaw neighborhood in 2011, I was enthusiastically involved in providing numerous services.  As the years went by, my journey took me through various artistic landscapes, culminating in a significant opportunity in 2019. That year, I had the privilege of collaborating with the Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers, who showcased their incredible talents at Art All Night in Deanwood.  Despite my involvement in these pivotal moments, I did not participate in the H Street Festival or Art All Night, reflecting my evolving focus and the different avenues through which I engage with the arts community.” I provided services for the Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers from 2001 - 2020. Fall Reflections

I have no idea what you are discussing because I am doing my fall reflections. In my artistic practice, which encompasses both traditional and digital abstract painting, I have explored an extensive palette of colors. Over the span of more than three decades, I have consistently utilized hues such as blue, crimson, dark red, red, black, green, magenta, and yellow, each contributing to the emotional depth and visual complexity of my work. In addition to these primary colors, I have also integrated a diverse range of other shades into my compositions. These include earthy tones like brown and orange, as well as more vibrant colors such as gold ochre, purple, pink, gray, and white. Each color serves a specific purpose, whether it be to evoke a particular mood or to create a striking contrast that draws the viewer's eye. This careful selection of colors is fundamental to my artistic expression and the overall impact of my pieces.

Today's Inspiration

My days have been filled with a blend of research and creativity, as I immerse myself in the soothing melodies of the birds chirping just outside my window. Active Listening

“The best listeners convey their confidence in the other person.” Being quiet and listening fully to what the other person is saying without any judgment, bias and prejudice. Quote found on the Internet The best listeners convey their confidence in the other person by truly focusing on what is being said, rather than thinking about their own response or interjecting with their own opinions. This level of attentiveness shows respect for the speaker, validating their thoughts and feelings. It also fosters a sense of trust, as the listener demonstrates that they are fully engaged and invested in the conversation. By maintaining eye contact, nodding in agreement, and using body language that shows openness and receptivity, the listener communicates that they value the speaker's perspective. This kind of active listening allows the speaker to feel heard and understood, leading to more meaningful and productive discussions. Ultimately, conveying confidence in the other person through att...

Skyward Harmony

Skyward Harmony. Digital art created on canvas. August 15, 2024. Afrika Abney Looking out from my window, I was greeted by clouds drifting lazily across the sky, while a solitary bird soared gracefully above. The scene sparked a wave of inspiration within me, prompting me to reach for my digital palette. I carefully chose a variety of blue hues, blending them with soft whites to capture the essence of the sky and the fleeting beauty of the bird in flight. With each stroke of my virtual brush, I began to translate the atmospheric beauty before me onto my digital canvas. The cool blues danced harmoniously with the gentle whites, creating a sense of depth and movement that mirrored the clouds and the bird's elegant trajectory.
