Blank Canvas

In my digital abstract paintings, I integrate a variety of elements such as vivid colors, intricate brushstrokes, and a diverse array of lines, shapes, and patterns. Each of these components plays a crucial role in the overall composition, contributing to the dynamic visual experience that characterizes my work. However, prior to embarking on the creation of each piece, I take a moment to closely analyze the textured blank canvas that serves as my starting point.

Unity in Motion

“Unity in Motion emphasizes the importance of inclusivity and collaboration within the arts community, promoting a sense of togetherness. During my time at various art institutions, I encountered instances of racism and discrimination. These experiences were disheartening and highlighted the challenges faced within the visual art and dance community. Additionally, I faced issues with timely payment from several organizations, which further complicated my professional engagements. Despite my commitment to providing high-quality services, there were instances where payments were delayed or not received at all and raised concerns about the professionalism of the organizations involved. It is important to note that throughout my interactions with these companies, I did not render any services since I was last hired. The combination of discriminatory experiences, financial inconsistencies, and a lack of engagement from certain organizations highlights the importance for improve...

Soaring Colors

Soaring Colors. Digital art created on canvas. August 15, 2024. Afrika Abney Outside my window, a flock of birds gracefully soared through the sky, their wings catching the fading light of the evening. The gentle chirping of crickets filled the air, creating a soothing backdrop as I immersed myself in the vibrant world of my digital canvas. With each stroke, I focused intently on the colors and shapes emerging before me, allowing the beauty of the moment to inspire my creativity rather than dwelling on what has come before. As I gazed out my window, I was captivated by the sight of birds gliding effortlessly above. The rhythmic sounds of crickets serenaded me, providing a tranquil soundtrack to my artistic endeavor. With a palette of vivid hues at my fingertips, I poured my energy into the canvas, channeling the essence of the present evening and not focusing on the past. As I applied layers of color to my digital canvas, I found myself fully absorbed in the here and now, crafting a v...

Digital art applications

“Digital art has a smaller environmental footprint compared to traditional art mediums, as it eliminates the need for physical materials such as paper, canvas, and paint. By embracing digital tools, artists can contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly creative ecosystem. It encompasses so many different avenues, it can be hard to break the definition down into something simple, but for our purposes, the definition of digital art is: Art made using or facilitated by software, computers, or other electronic devices. Digital art has enabled artists to unearth their creativity further. Artists can advance their work and improve their talent through new materials, mediums and techniques. Digital art has expanded the possibilities through augmented reality exhibitions and virtual reality installations, among other avenues.” Over the years, I have produced a significant collection of digital abstract paintings on canvas, showcasing my artistic evolution and creativity. These works s...
