“A school leader is an employee or officer of a school who is responsible for its daily operations and instructional leadership. This can include principals, assistant principals, or other individuals.
School leaders can have a significant impact on a school and its community. They can help shape the school's culture and values, develop a shared vision, and manage change. They can also work to maintain curriculum quality, enforce discipline, and manage both teaching and administrative staff.”

I have successfully helped school leaders such as Ms. Dahlia Aguilar, Ms. Rachel Sussman, and Mr. Simon Rodberg. Through my roles at Mundo Verde PCS (2013 - 2014) and DCI (2016 - 2017) when I served as a substitute teacher, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of strong leadership in the education sector and navigate complex challenges and implement innovative strategies to enhance student learning outcomes. My strong communication skills and ability to build relationships have enabled me to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
My accomplishments include leading initiatives to improve student achievement, increase parent engagement, and enhance professional development opportunities for educators. I am proud to have played a role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments that inspire both students and staff to reach their full potential.
“Dahlia Aguilar is a Senior Partner with DEIscovery Partners. In her role as an executive coach, designer, and trainer, she helps organizations build their capacity to see how their ecosystem is yielding the outcomes they desire, to understand how their stakeholders and constituents are affected by their practices, and to help deepen their ability to institute lasting, transformational change. Throughout her career, she has focused on building work environments that center equity and function as learning organizations. Prior to beginning her work as a Senior Partner with DEIscovery Partners, Dahlia was a founder of Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School where she served as the Chief Schools Officer and principal of the school from 2010-2021. Before joining Mundo Verde, Dahlia taught in District of Columbia Public schools and Texas Public Schools as a teacher, and instructional leader. As well, she served Unidos US as the Director of Teaching and Learning where she provided technical assistance and professional development to community-based organizations in developing educational models.”
Rachel Sussman, Assistant Principal at DCI
“Simon Rodberg was the founding principal of DC International School, helping achieve the public charter board’s Tier 1 status each year, as well as complete International Baccalaureate authorization; Middle States accreditation; parent-voted Washington City Paper “best middle school” and “best high school” status; and other accolades. He also experienced lots of headaches, unsolved problems, and even laughter!”
I did not only have the opportunity to work with these school leaders, but others between 1995 - 2018.
