Abstract realm

“The abstract realm is a domain of ideas that exist beyond the physical world and are considered to be non-spatial. Abstract concepts are essential elements of human cognition that shape our perceptions, decisions, and interactions. They are the building blocks of higher-order thinking, allowing us to grasp complex ideas, engage in symbolic reasoning, and formulate theories. Abstract concepts are also the essence of human creativity, fueling our ability to imagine, invent, and innovate.”

I utilize various digital applications to produce my artwork, which I then showcase through blog posts. This approach not only allows me to express my creativity but also serves as a strategic method for branding and self-promotion in my role as a consultant. By sharing my digital creations online, I can engage with a wider audience and establish a recognizable presence in the digital art community.

Through the use of advanced digital tools, I am able to craft unique pieces of digital art that reflect my artistic vision. By disseminating these works via blog posts, I effectively combine my passion for art with my professional identity as a consultant. This dual focus enhances my visibility and credibility, allowing potential clients and collaborators to appreciate my skills and insights in both the artistic and consulting realms.

The integration of digital applications into my creative process has transformed the way I produce and share my art. By regularly posting my digital artwork on my blog, I not only highlight my artistic capabilities but also reinforce my brand as a consultant. This method of sharing my work fosters connections with my audience, enabling me to build a community around my art while simultaneously promoting my consulting services.

Abstract Realm. Digital art created on canvas. August 10, 2024. Afrika Abney

“The realm of abstraction represents a sphere of thought that transcends the tangible universe, characterized by its non-material nature. Within this domain, abstract concepts play a crucial role in human thought processes, influencing how we perceive the world, make choices, and interact with others. These concepts serve as foundational elements of advanced cognitive functions, enabling individuals to comprehend intricate ideas, participate in symbolic reasoning, and develop theoretical frameworks.

Furthermore, abstract concepts are integral to the essence of human creativity, acting as a catalyst for our imaginative capabilities. They empower us to envision possibilities beyond our immediate reality, fostering innovation and invention. This creative potential is not merely a byproduct of abstract thinking; rather, it is deeply intertwined with our ability to conceptualize and manipulate ideas that do not have a physical form. As such, the abstract realm is vital for artistic expression and the advancement of knowledge across various disciplines.”

In my exploration of this theme, I created a digital painting titled "Abstract Realm." This artwork seeks to visually represent the intricate interplay of ideas that exist within the abstract domain. Through the use of color, form, and composition, the painting aims to evoke the essence of abstract thought, inviting viewers to engage with the complexities of human cognition and creativity.

Spectrum Serenity

Spectrum Serenity.Digital art created on canvas. August 12, 2024. Afrika Abney “The spectrum of blue hues presents a captivating array of colors that evoke a sense of calm and tranquility. From the soft, delicate whispers of baby blue to the deep, profound richness of navy, each shade carries its own unique emotional resonance. The lighter tones often remind one of clear skies and gentle waves, while the darker shades can evoke the depth of the ocean or the vastness of twilight, creating a visual experience that is both soothing and expansive. Exploring the various tones of blue reveals a world of possibilities, each shade telling its own story. Cerulean, with its bright and cheerful disposition, can instantly uplift the spirit, reminiscent of sunny days and open horizons. In contrast, the moody allure of cobalt blue can draw one into a more introspective state, inviting contemplation and reflection. This diversity within the blue palette allows for a rich interplay of emotions, mak...

Bold Radiance

Bold Radiance. Digital art created on canvas. September 19, 2024. Afrika Abney   Good morning, I trust that you enjoyed a peaceful evening and had a restorative night's sleep. Today is Thursday, September 19, 2024, I wish you a day filled with safety and vibrant experiences that bring joy and inspiration. My journey to Brightwood, Washington, DC, began during my college years.  From 1995 - 1998, I conducted my visual arts workshops in numerous areas of the Brightwood community.   In my artistic endeavors, I chose to work with vibrant shades of yellow for my digital abstract painting, utilizing the paintapp software. This color selection was intentional, as yellow often symbolizes positivity and energy, which I aimed to convey through my artwork. The process of creating this piece allowed me to explore the interplay of light and form. PAST VISUAL ARTS WORKSHOP held in the Brightwood Community KUUMBA ARTS AND CRAFTS PROGRAM. D.C. Chocolate City Revival

Chocolate City Revival. Digital art created on canvas. October 11, 2024. Afrika Abney At the time when I was taught that Washington, DC was known as the Chocolate City, I was a toddler and a student at NationHouse.  Therefore, according to my research, “Washington, D.C. was historically known as Chocolate City, a term that reflected its vibrant African - American culture and significant population during the late 20th century. This nickname emerged as a symbol of pride and identity within the community, highlighting the rich contributions of Black residents to the city's social, political, and artistic landscape.  As the city evolved, the term Chocolate City continued to resonate, reminding both locals and visitors of the historical and cultural significance of the African - American population in Washington, D.C. It served as a testament to the ongoing struggles and triumphs of the community, celebrating their achievements while also acknowledging the challenges they f...

“Here are some colors that can be associated with success in the workplace: Gold or yellow Can symbolize achievement and prosperity. Yellow can also increase feelings of well-being, enthusiasm, and positivity, which can boost employee performance and productivity. It can also promote creativity and decision-making, and some psychologists say it can help with memory, self-esteem, and optimism. Yellow accents can be used in spaces where creativity is encouraged, such as on walls, or as highlights in desk or wall accessories, art, or plants.
