In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic a group of women gathered online to write and share poetry in a workshop launched by Esther Productions Inc. The event was titled Women are Poetry In Motion. Participants continued to meet and the group evolved into the Kaleidoscope Writing Collective--seven women writers in various stages of their development exploring their creativity and sharing their vision.

Growing up in Washington, DC, I developed a passion for art early on, shaping my artistic journey from a young age. Attending NationHouse and other art institutions between the ages of 7 and 16, I immersed myself in creativity and African-centered education. Louis Armstrong once said, "Music is life itself. What would this world be without good music? No matter what kind it is." This quote deeply resonates with me as I reflect on my own journey with music. I firmly believe that Black culture and American music are intricately intertwined, with roots dating back to the arrival of enslaved Africans on American soil. The fusion of African rhythms and melodies with European influences has profoundly shaped the landscape of American music, influencing generations of artists and listeners alike. With a background in creating art inspired by music, I am dedicated to honoring the rich history of Black culture in shaping American music through my work. Transparent Experiences

Starting from the beginning means understanding that my journey is different from yours. Trying to obtain if I am joking, means that you really were not transparent when I met you. I was 2 years old in 1978 and enrolled at NationHouse. I participated in numerous activities when I was a student at NationHouse. At Bell, from 1991-1993, I was 14 -16. I have no clue who nominated me to participate in the completion that I participated in from 1992-1993. When I was a student, I was only attracted to boys. Boys who act like gentlemen. As an adult over the age of 30, I am only attracted to single straight male over the age of 30 who act like gentlemen. When I worked in various settings, I was only interested in the services that I provided, not dating. It is unethical for me to go on dates when employed. I have removed myself from those settings. Since 2018, I have not provided any educational, career day and free services. Better questions produce stronger answers.I have thrown ...

Silent Expressions

The act of conveying messages without the use of spoken words is a profound form of communication. This silent expression can manifest through various means, such as body language, facial expressions, and gestures. In many instances, the subtleties of silence can convey emotions, feelings, and thoughts more powerfully than verbal articulation. Silence is not merely the absence of sound but a rich tapestry of meaning that can enhance relationships and facilitate deeper connections. I have said many things in silence. However, I remain puzzled as to why so many single straight men over the age of 30 remain clueless. Real genuine love is an emotional expression built of genuine feelings and affection. Not personal agendas and manipulation. This post is inspired by the “Say it with Silence, “ by Hubert Laws, 1978 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ppl-lDRVUzo).
