Simple White

The necessity for acquiring whiteboards has diminished for me, as I ceased offering educational services back in 2018. Since that time, my focus has shifted entirely. I have been working on my branding and digital art where I utilize various digital applications to express my creativity. In this context, the color white serves a significant purpose, often representing simplicity and clarity in my artistic endeavors.    “The concept of Simple White embodies the essence of minimalism, where the purity of the color white acts as an open canvas for creativity and innovation, allowing ideas to flourish without the distractions of complexity. The color white encourages a harmonious balance between creativity and tranquility.”

Golden Shadow

Golden Shadow. Digital art created on canvas. August 15, 2024. Afrika Abney Golden Shadow is a captivating abstract digital artwork that masterfully explores the interplay between vibrant yellow hues and profound black tones. This striking contrast serves as a powerful metaphor for the duality of existence, illustrating how light and darkness can coexist harmoniously within a single composition. The addition of various shades of brown further enriches the visual narrative, creating a sense of depth and complexity that invites viewers to reflect on the intricate balance of opposing forces in life. This dynamic relationship between light and shadow not only captivates the viewer but also encourages a deeper contemplation of the themes of hope and despair, joy and sorrow. The subtle incorporation of brown tones adds warmth to the piece, grounding the vibrant colors and enhancing the overall emotional resonance of the artwork.

Values

This is a collage that I created many years ago and gave away. It was one of the pieces that I featured on my old greeting cards. I created this piece while I was a student at Bell from 1991 - 1993.    Values. Greeting card created and designed by Afrika Abney   I strive to demonstrate my levels of integrity, empathy, and compassion within my community. I chose the following colors: blue, pink, yellow, black, and purple because it each of those colors have a relationship to one another and meaning. For example, I am a black, so black represents my roots, heritage, culture, and skin color. Without my ancestors and cultural beliefs, I would not be able to have values. Values are apart of who I am. Colors are embedded within me. "Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intellige...
